Adam Lambert ATT Live Proud Event
Adam Lambert performed Monday at the Highline ballroom in NYC (watch) for fans and LGBT activists to celebrate the end of the AT&T campaign to promote living out & proud! Continue today by wearing purple for GLAAD's anti-bullying Spriit Day!
Stand with Egypt's LGBT Community Oct 18
Stand with the Egyptian LGBT community and join protests in Ottawa, Berlin, London and Mexico City (or create your own!) to raise awareness of the dozens of arrests and convictions of LGBT people in Egypt. See the solidarity blog in Arabic.
Brent Everett
This weekend It's Phoenix Pride - but even more proud is the 10 day costume and masquerade event, Fantasy Fest in Key West! Or Boot up for the World Gay Rodeo Finals in Fort Worth. Abroad circuit boys and porn fiends head to Berlin for the annual HustlaBall.

World News.

Fearing legal trouble UAE distributers refused to publish a Financial Times supplement of top OUT professionals!

The Mayor of Seoul became Korea's first politician to endorse marriage equality. Unclear if he knew the story in the San Francisco Chronicle would get press, but he is a 2017 presidential contender. Meanwhile Korea banned a lesbian-themed music video!

Not a happy Coming Out day in Moscow where police detained 8 for displaying LGBT info (watch!). Nor in Turkey, where 2 men lost jobs and family ties after publicizing a symbolic union, yet Turkey recently opened it's first LGBT center - and scooped up LGBTI.org!

The Human Rights Campaign protested Kyrgyzstan Parliament's vote of 79-7 for a "anti-propaganda" measure similar to Russia's law, which would send "homosexuality promoters" to jail for at least a year.

The persistence of one trans woman in Kenya led to legal changes in documentation of gender and better awareness of transgender issues in Africa. Yet sadly, it's taking
the death of a trans woman in the Philippines to help fuel anti-discrimination laws. A US marine was charged with her murder.

Perhaps the new Vatican paper on gay "gifts" will do some good - one Nigerian minister has changed his views. But wait, "gay" relationships are still bad, say the Catholics.

Travel.

Trinidad & Tobago appears to be shifting towards greater LGBT acceptance - check out this article and a great graphic describing LGBT-friendliness across the Caribbean.

Caught one of those cheap Icelandair flights with a layover in Reykjavik yet? Take a look at this great review of Pride in this hip island town.

Looking for a side trip in Tuscany? Hipster Adam tells us about his scenic trip an hour from Florence in Volterra.

Enjoy last week's Atlanta Pride pictures? Here's this year's beautifully trashy shots from OutTraveler.

Here's every (toned) gay boys dream LA vacation - a promotional video from the Abbey.

Eye catching. 12 reasons guys to love these Aussie firefighters for selling a calendar to support a children's hospital.

Events.

NYC. We've had High Homo Days - so now it's time for the Middle Eastern Habibi Party on Friday!

NYC. Sunday evening is perfect for story-time. Come drink at Videology Bar in Williamsburg for I'm From Driftwood's first live LGBTQ multimedia story archive.

Barcelona. In Spain? I hope to be back soon. Enjoy the city's International LGBT Film festival Oct 16-26.

Upcoming. DC. This year's annual High Heel Race on 17th Street will be held right before Halloween on Tuesday, Oct 28.

Upcoming. NYC. Get $50 early-bird tickets to support the International Gay & Lesbian Human Rights Commission (www.IGLHRC.org) Nov 21 at the Griffin - who can refuse an open bar for global gay rights!
