As you read this, I'm en route to Philly for Creating Change - the best US national LGBTIQ (and more) conference - and I want to be sure they hear about international issues. OutRight will discuss Trump's foreign policy and afterwards we will enjoy free drinks at Boxers - just 4 blocks from the Marriott. Next Up - San Francisco in a few weeks!
Trump Claims to be pro-gay
No Trump nominee agreed support or protect LGBTIQ people. Sec State nominee Rex Tillerson declined to say whether LGBT rights were human rights & while yesterday UN Amb. nominee Nikki Haley opposed  discrimination of any kind, this is the same position Egypt has voices when asked about our community.
Ashton takes on Ptown
Read my Ptown series yet? Part 2 is up (with a video!) - but make sure to read Part 1 first. Explore my adventures in the queerest gaycation you can take in the US.  Be in touch if you need a centrally located spot this summer!

The anti-LGBT Liberty Council - supported by Mike Pence - is teaming up with forces abroad - including in Romania to oppose our community in Europe.

President Obama commuted the sentence of Chelsea Manning; she definitely does not deserve further punishment, despite the lives ruined by release of State Department cables. Julian Assange (of course) reneged on his promise to turn himself over. He previously pledged to do so if she was granted clemency.

A new US national mayors campaign will address LGBTIQ equality, Mayors Against LGBT Discrimination, but President Obama believes gains made in society are irreversible.

DC held a queer dance party outside President-elect Mike Pence's home last night in protest of his extreme anti-LGBTIQ views and policies.

  Travel

Instead of spending your Saturday night out, reconnect with your wild side by viewing pictures taken of New York's post-club morning scenes by Richard Renaldi at the Eastman Museum starting Saturday.

Towleroad has the must-see spots for 5 kinds of LGBT travelers in Key West.

NYC. Attend the Anti-Inaugural Ball at the Wyndam New York tonight to support progressive new political leaders.

Philly. Join OutRight Action International at Boxers for a reception during Creating Change, highlighting the need to travel with knowledge of LGBTIQ rights - as we say cheers to Obama Friday, January 20th.

DC (and cities around the world). Attend the women's march in response to the inauguration of President Trump.
