Ashton & Johnny Weir

Chinese New Years Party at Charlie's
Happy Chinese New Year! In NYC? Celebrate in Chinatown at the parade Sunday, but also tonight at Uncle Charlie's Bar! Exciting gay news from China where a coming-out video reached 100 million viewers & a Valentine's Day meme is spreading acceptance in a country where 50 percent of LGBT people remain closeted.
South Africa Pride 2015
It's the time of year to be celebrating if you're in the Southern Hemisphere! Cape Town Pride kicks off this weekend as well as the Auckland Pride Parade. In case you missed out on Carnival in Rio this week, next weekend is Sydney's gay Mardi Gras - including the Harbour Party and the gayest pool party imaginable.

At least in South Africa, you can hold hands with your partner and not cause too much of a fuss! Still, it's probably the first time on the continent that the (first openly) gay member of a government held hands in public.

LGBT rights will be part of the future of Colombia as a gay negotiator, participating in government talks with the FARC, stands by efforts to renounce anti-LGBT violence perpetrated by the revolutionary group.

I'm happy to share a name with the new US Defense Secretary - but even more proud that he chose openly gay Eric Fanning as his Chief of Staff!

Despite the dire circumstances, Kate Brown became the first openly bisexual governor after her swearing in in Oregon yesterday!

In case you missed:  We may be one step closer to an HIV vaccine after substantial tests on monkeys stopped infection.
