The crackdown continues in Egypt -- where the government has arrested over 80 people this year and handed down sentences for 11 more for prison of 3-12 years for being gay. Also in Saudi Arabia, as recent pressure is mounting on LGBT people, a US congressional letter condemned the crackdown.

An al-Qaida affiliate claimed responsibility for the brutal hacking murder of an LGBT activist in Bangladesh.
