New site, Alturi.org
A new organization, Alturi.org was launched yesterday in an effort to directly assist global
LGBTIQ groups as well as educate and engage Americans on issues facing communities abroad
. The goal of the website is to encourage people to give directly to groups abroad for a specifc cause.
Three Trials of Oscar Wilde - Benefit for Russian LGBTIQ Community
Monday the Tectonic Theater Project will present Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde to benefit OutRight Action International (formerly IGLHRC). Check out Laramie Project creator Moisés Kaufman's play read by tons of stars!
This weekend Hurricane Joaquin may dampen the celebration outside DC for Virginia's NOVA Pride but maybe it won't reach Blue Ridge Pride in Asheville. You could escape it all perhaps if you head much further south to Curaçao Pride. Or stay out of the rain & watch Nick Jonas play gay on Scream Queens.

Iraq now has it's own LGBTIQ group called IraQueer working to ensure safety for the community from ISIS as well as internal Iraq homophobia.

Russian homophobe (anti-propaganda law author) Vitaly Milonov announced the creation of a group called "Volunteers for Freedom" to "save the world from gays." Coming after Putin honored him with Russia's highest civilian honor for his anti-gay work and claimed on 60 Minutes that his country does not outlaw homosexuality.

Hundreds of delegates involved in politics will meet in Honduras this week for a Latin American & Caribbean LGBT conference in Tegucigalpa.

Video of a Chinese proposal on the Beijing subway has gone viral with mostly positive comments.

A Cambodia government spokesperson welcomed marriage equality and expressed that no laws discriminate against gays & lesbians in the country.
