In a ruling celebrated across Africa, Botswana's highest court ruled that an LGBT group can register with the government (it's taken 10 years!). However, in Uganda a law takes affect regulating NGOs, which could be used to close down LGBTIQ groups.

Yesterday, President Obama nominated Merrick Garland for the US Supreme Court - but his name seems to be the only gay thing about him - his record on LGBT issues is dated, but definitely not good.


In the US, business leaders condemned a "religious liberty" bill passed by Georgia lawmakers that will allow open discrimination against LGBTI people, specifically allows people to deny services based on "sincerely held religious belief."
