We are delighted to have booked in the children and their schools that couldn't make the school planting before Christmas, including Smannell & Enham Primary School on 13th January and Balksbury Junior School on Thursday 3rd February. All the children have recorded their trees on the Queen's Green Canopy database in celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. A huge thank you and well done to all the children and teachers for getting involved.

We look forward to welcoming Hatherden Primary and Normangate Primary shortly. Plus we have a further 60 children from Knights Enham Infants school coming up to the wood on 15th February. We need volunteers to support the children from Knights Enham from 9am-12pm - please get in touch if you can help!

Sadly our appointed builder for the Cabin is no longer able to take on the work as he had hoped and we now urgently seek a builder (specialist in carpentry) to manage the next phase of the build: as a priority, installing the raised timber floor, cladding and security shutters (commissioned) and ideally the internal walls and glazing. Do you know carpenters, builders and other strong arms who could help us finish the Cabin , contracted and/ or volunteer? More information below or get in touch to find out more...

As always, Monday workdays continue and tasks include weeding and mulching the new hedgerows.  If you enjoy working outdoors with friendly, easy-going folk then please email Doreen to get involved.

CAN YOU HELP US FINISH THE CABIN?

Sadly our appointed builder for the Cabin is no longer able to take on the work as he had hoped and we now urgently seek a builder (specialist in carpentry) to manage the next phase of the build: as a priority, installing the raised timber floor, cladding and security shutters (commissioned) and ideally the internal walls and glazing. Do you know carpenters, builders and other strong arms who could help us finish the Cabin , contracted and/ or volunteer?

The site needs to be levelled by the end of February and although the Monday work team have done an AMAZING job so far they are tired and we now need some strong arms and a mini digger to shift piles of mud and level the site. This activity could take place on a Monday or a dedicated weekend.

Wildflower seeding in the meadow around the cabin site will take place at the end of March/mid-April.

Please email to get involved...
