HOT LIT!
curated by scott alexander hess novelist/teacher/queer new yorker
Who doesn't love Good Head. Ok that was too easy! I couldn't resist.

Kudos to New York City's sassiest new queer salon in Chelsea. I love their style, aesthetic and Instagram feed and was not at all surprised when I spotted my old pal Edwin (photo above) as the owner.

Fave memory: Years back Edwin and I often ran into each other at one of Manhattan's public pools. It was there that we came up with the term "super snatch" which was our way of checking in on our current work out routines. As in "I'm feeling super snatched today."

It's wonderful to discover bright new voices on the literary front.

I was thrilled to come across Robin Gow's new book A MILLION QUIET REVOLUTIONS (can I just pause to stare at the gorgeous cover!) which releases March 22, 2022.

Described as: A modern love story, told in verse, about two teenaged trans boys who name themselves after two Revolutionary War soldiers. A lyrical, aching young adult romance perfect for fans of The Poet X, Darius the Great is Not Okay, and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Universe.

I'm a bit obsessed with the sultry Instagram imagery posted by @aronnecomai. When I'm caught in a winter slump, all I need to do is take a peek at these warm, bright and wonder-inducing pieces to smile. Check out the collection.

Hot Lit Finale!

A new year often brings a slew of "I can do it" resolutions. I thought I'd counter that with a touch of SLOTH.

Joanne Askew's new Speculative Fiction (Rebel Satori Press) has a great teaser: Britain is rotting. Sloth has taken over the land. Natali and her wife, Lana, must raise their heart rates every three hours or the Sloth virus will slow their hearts to nothing.

And the author, a Science-Fiction and Horror writer, not only "explores mental health issues, sexual identity, femininity and neurodiversity through speculative fiction" but is an LGBTQIA+ activist to boot!
